‘Tis the season of casting calls and big, big plans getting underway for summer events.

One week from today, there’s an open audition call for a new Verlaine/McCann Production (the first of two calls, actually). Anything that the production/performance duo of Lily Verlaine and Jasper McCann put their pretty and ridiculously talented heads to is sure to be not only artistically groundbreaking, but a guaranteed class act. More details on the intriguing new show to come- for now, here’s the info on the open audition call:

From the Desks of Lily Verlaine & Jasper McCann (reposted with permission)

Lily Verlaine & Jasper McCann, producers of Land Of The Sweets: The Burlesque Nutcracker and Through The Looking Glass: The Burlesque Alice In Wonderland, are pleased to announce an audition for dancers, burlesque artists, acrobats, and circus performers of any gender for consideration for roles in their all-new (as yet untitled) production that will premiere the second week of August 2012 at Seattle’s illustrious Triple Door. Dancers must be available August 8th from 10am-midnight and August 9th and10th from 5pm-midnight.

We are in search of strong, multifaceted performers with backgrounds in ballet, belly dance, theater, and burlesque, especially performers who are adaptable and work well in an ensemble. Where acrobats are concerned, we are seeking performers who are part of an existing duo or are willing to perform as a duo. While this production is burlesque-focused, not all roles necessitate nudity and nudity will not be a part of the audition process.

Audition will be held on two dates-you need only attend one:

Sunday April 29th
Check in at 10:30 a.m., auditions begin at 11:00 a.m. and end at 1:00 p.m.

Tuesday May 1st:
Check in at noon, auditions begin at 12:30 p.m. and end at 2:30 p.m.

If you are interested, R.S.V.P. by email to: nvseason2011@gmail.com.

Please include resume, headshot, links to video if you have it and the audition time that is convenient for you. We will send audition location information with your confirmation.

Dancers and burlesque performers will be taught a short dance combination at the audition; rehearsal attire is recommended. Floor is slick, please keep in mind when selecting footwear. Dance sneakers are recommended.

All other performers should prepare a short (4 minutes max) routine showcasing their skills.

If are you are interested but you are unable to attend these audition times, please contact us about video submission.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,
Lily Verlaine & Jasper McCann
