Alotta Boutté

One of the founding members of Harlem Shake Burlesque, legendary San Francisco chanteuse Alotta Boutté has tap danced and burlesqued her way around the world- most notably at the acclaimed Hubba Hubba Review, Margaret Cho’s The Sensuous Woman, Tease-O-Rama, and Exotic World. We’re extremely lucky to have her all to ourselves at Burlycon this year where she will teach “Sing & Strip”.

In other news…who wants to dance with Land of the Sweets?

If you are a dancer or know people who dance, you should be aware that an audition is coming up for Land of The Sweets (Lily Verlaine and Jasper McCann’s annual burlesque homage to The Nutcracker). Recent postings are calling for ladies or boys who present as convincing ladies…or just go as yourself:

Same location, October 18, 2010 6:00-9:00pm

Calling dancers for supporting roles in 2010 run of Land Of The Sweets: The Burlesque Nutcracker. This is a paid understudy role with guaranteed performance. Interested party must be willing to work on Christmas Eve.

Performance dates:
December 9, 11, 12, 14,15, 16,17, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24

Two shows per day (7:00 and 10:00pm weekdays, 7:00 and 10:30pm weekends, 2:00 and 7:00 Sunday) Dec. 24, we will present one show at 5pm. Times are subject to change. Twenty five performances total.

Seattle WA 98144

Please wear dance sneakers if you are sensitive to hard floors. Please also bring character shoes and tap shoes if you have them. Be aware that the audition room is not entirely private, so please dress accordingly. Dance attire preferred. Public restrooms are available for your changing needs.
